It’s Sunday morning and Tommy and Ray are at the flea market in the community centre in Greenwich. They are walking around and looking for bargains at the tables. There are many people at the flea market and everybody’s very busy.
Tommy says: “I really hope I can find a cool new computer game here!”
“It doesn’t look like it, my friend. Look, just books and old DVDs everywhere. Or do you maybe need a new lamp?” Ray says, pointing at a big, ugly, purple lamp on a table. He is laughing.
“What about you? What are you trying to find?” Tommy asks.
“Well, I’m looking for a present for, eh…for my cousin! Her birthday’s next week.”
“What about this book?” Tommy wants to know and picks up a book from the table in front of them: “’My pony and I’ – look, it’s even pink. Perfect for girls.”
“No, that’s rubbish,” Ray answers and puts the book back, “She’s doesn’t like pink! She’s a cool girl.”
They walk around a bit more. Suddenly they see Simon, their classmate. Simon is selling a lot of his old computer games and Tommy is excited. “That’s ‘Zombieland Part II and III’” he says, “and here, ‘Football Party 22’, nice! How much are they?” Simon grins at Tommy and says: “Well, normally £5 each, but for you it’s £15 both.”
“What?! That’s not fair!” Tommy protests, “I can give you £8 for both, but not more!”
Simon is horrified: “That’s a joke! They’re worth more than that!”
“Ray, help me out here!” But Ray isn’t looking. He’s thinking of something else. At the table next to Simon's, there’s a young lady selling jewellery.
“One moment please, Tommy.”
