It's Tuesday, 2nd May at the Taylors' house. Tommy, his sister Tina and their father Tom are sitting at the breakfast table.
Tom: Tommy, are you excited about your birthday?
Tommy: Of course I am! Only three more days until the big party!
Tina: The baby party, you mean.
Tom: Tina, you mustn't talk to your little brother like that! Be nice!
Tommy: Yes, Tina, be nice! Or you can't come to my party.
Tina: Maybe I don't want to. Who's coming anyway?
Tommy: Ray, James, Simon...And I must talk to a few others.
Tina: Can I invite some of my friends too?
Tommy: No, you can't. It's my birthday party. Your friends are too old.
Tina: Too cool, you mean.
Tom: Tina, Tommy, stop it! Let's plan the party! We need decoration. Isn't the theme of your party 'football'? And what about a cake?
Tommy: I've got lots of football posters and balloons in many colours: green, blue, red, yellow. I don't want to have a cake. Can we make a trifle instead? And have ice cream?
Tom: I think so. But you mustn't eat too many sweets. And you mustn't stay up all night.
Tommy: That's the plan, Dad! It's a sleepover - but without much sleep!
Tom: Oh no, but please be quiet! Some of us need to work the next day!
Tommy: You needn't worry, Dad. We can be very quiet if we want to.
